iSCSI Products - iSCSI RAID Arrays!
PeerStorage™Array
100E
From box to SAN in under 20 minutes
|
 |
The
PeerStorage Array 100E from EqualLogic delivers the
robust features of a high-end storage area network (SAN)
in an affordable, iSCSI solution. Based on the PeerStorage
architecture, each self-managing array comes complete
with all the hardware and technology required to build
and maintain a full-featured, IP-based SAN in less than
20 minutes.
Each PeerStorage Array 100E comes
out of the box with RAID 10 and RAID 50 support, three
Gigabit Ethernet network connections, and up to 14
Serial ATA disk drives (2.5 terabytes of storage).
The modular design of the PeerStorage
Array 100E enables seamless storage expansion. Configuring
one or more arrays into a PeerStorage Group lets you
manage the arrays as a single system with a shared
pool of storage. To increase capacity, simply connect
another array to the network and add it to the group.
The group members collaborate to automatically load
balance across disks and network connections without
disrupting data availability. This allows for pay-as-you-grow
storage and prevents both underutilization and over
provisioning.
Whether you have one array or many,
integrated intelligence minimizes user intervention
and dramatically simplifies storage administration.
The PeerStorage Array 100E significantly reduces the
cost and complexity of networked storage by automating
key functions associated with configuring, scaling,
and managing storage, such as:
- RAID configuration,
expansion, management, and disk sparing
- Load
balancing across disks and network connections
- On-demand
storage provisioning
- Snapshot
creation and management
- Redundant
and hot-swappable hardware including controllers,
disks, power, and cooling
The
PeerStorage Array 100E raises the bar on management
and affordability by delivering a self-managing, iSCSI
networked storage solution that is easy to use, regardless
of scale.
Every week, Equallogic performs"webinars"
on it's products. And anytime, simpleSAN
can schedule a test drive of it management software
piece. If you'd like to touch and feel the units, on-site
demonstrations can be scheduled. Contact us at simpleSAN
for a "test drive". |

| NetDisk
is a iSCSI hard drive solution that is connected directly
to the network through the Ethernet interface. Since
it can be recognized as a local drive by all PCs in
the network through a hub, NetDisk can be used independently
or shared. It is really a cross between a direct-attach
storage device and a Network Attached Storage solution.
All the benefits of iSCSI are utilized here like: using
the most popular interface, Ethernet, that gives a great
advantage in cost, speed and user friendliness in households
as well as in the business office. NetDisk uses the
ASIC chip developed by Ximeta Technology Inc., and with
a click of the mouse, it enables multiple NetDisk units
to be recognized as a single disk drive. For example,
ten 120 Gigabyte NetDisk units can be aggregated into
a single NetDisk with 1.2 Terabytes of storage space.
NetDisk also provides backup and mirroring functions
as standard operations as well. |

LeftHand
Networks re-defined shared network storage in 2002 with
the introduction of the first full-featured IP SAN.
By building a SAN utilizing the existing Ethernet infrastructure,
the LeftHand Networks solution eliminates the learning
curve, expensive fibre channel components, and complexity
associated with fibre channel SANs. LeftHand's IP SAN
is ideal for Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL Server,
server consolidation, local or geographic disaster recovery,
and disk-to-disk backup projects.
IT administrators
get all the benefits of networked storage, in a simple,
integrated solution:
Pooled storage with centralized management
Seamless, unlimited scalability with no downtime
Extraordinary ease of use to simplify implementation
and provisioning
Automated storage pooling and data migration
On-the-fly capacity re-provisioning between volumes
Volumes appear as locally attached disk
Intuitive GUI interface
Snapshot, replication, and failover to ensure
data availability
Eliminate backup windows
Implement disaster recovery plans
Meet SLAs for critical applications
The simplicity of the LeftHand Networks IP SAN allows
existing staff to manage significantly more capacity
and provides for greatly increased utilization of storage
resources. In addition, both acquisition cost and the
long-term total cost of operation are much lower –
there’s no investment in expensive fibre channel
HBAs, switches, and fibre channel expertise, plus you
derive long-term benefits from efficient management
and provisioning.

Watch us grow.......
We are in the middle of evaluating multiple iSCSI manufacturers
and the products they have on the market. Because we value
your data, we want to ensure compatibility and stability
via testing and "plug fest" participation to offer
you the "best of breed" solution. Therefore, our
product offerings are under development... Please stay tuned.
In the mean time, free feel to call us/engage us with any
questions you may have about iSCSI and it's benefits.
iSCSI, all the availability,
scaleability and manageability benefits of fibre channel
SANs at a fraction of the cost and without the intense learning
curve.

"....[Direct
Attached Storage] DAS is difficult to manage and is usually
the most expensive host-storage connectivity method because
it does not provide economies of scale (it's a one-to-one
relationship). Those shortcomings have led to network-attached
storage (NAS) and storage area networks (SANs).
